Press Release – Cargobase Launches Collaborative Shipment Dashboard

Cargobase, the online platform for spot-buy freight, has successfully launched a major feature

Cargobase, the online platform for spot-buy freight, has successfully launched a major feature, that improves the day-to-day duties of those involved in the overall process of spot-buy shipments for enterprise shippers. This includes logistics operations, sales, customer service and logistics service providers.Launched in 2014, Cargobase is a platform created to automate a standard process for the management of spot-buy freight, by providing shippers real-time procurement, tracking, payment, analytics and compliance tools.Cargobase has already launched a shipment dashboard, a place where shippers and providers can share shipment-related information, like documents, flight updates, milestones and regular communications. With this new feature, shippers and providers will be able to grant access to non-Cargobase users, through an email invitation.

“We like our shippers and logistics service providers to work as efficiently as possible and that starts with the way they communicate. Everyone can relate to those emails with 20 people in CC, where you wonder if it was really necessary. Now you can simply choose who you want to share information with and that person can decide if he/she wants that or not.” Wiebe Helder, CEO of Cargobase.

“We see shippers using it for their sales staff who likes to be updated on a shipment to their customers. Providers use it to share data with appointed brokers, because now they are sure to have access to the most updated shipment data.” To ensure security, notifications, password-protection as well as unsubscribe functions are available and made part of the user-journey. Shippers have control over who has access to their shipments and are also able to revoke access at any time during the shipment process.
